For the past six months or so, it has been wonderful and safe to walk in downtown Yale, especially around the Nowell-Fletcher area.
Invisible are the drug dealers, addicts and sex trade workers. Absent also are the johns who did their drive-by shopping.
The buildings are still boarded up and empty – a by-product of the transients. Perhaps, one day new businesses may be attracted to the area.
Thank you to city council and law enforcers who accomplished this safer downtown.
