This is the most severe forest fire situation that I can remember. In the midst of the brave, tireless, generous efforts by many to fight the fires, it is important to remember that it is the changing climate that is a main driver of these fires.
In addition to conventional firefighting, we need to fight future fires by quickly and steadily reducing greenhouse gas emissions that warm the atmosphere and change the climate.
