Re: Vernon Flying Club: Running a week-long camp takes the efforts of many people to plan for success. As a member of Alexis Park Church, it was amazing to see the Vernon Flying Club assisting our Day Camp, and we would like to extend a huge thank you to them.
For our ‘Sky’ Day Camp, which ran from July 9 to July 13, children over the age of eight had the opportunity to experience flying with COPA for Kids, as well as tours around the airport, meeting pilots, and having a barbecue.
The staff was warm and friendly, taking their entire morning to make sure these kids had the experience of a lifetime.
Some children were hesitant about hopping into the plane, but when they had landed afterwards, it is hard to put into words just how wide the smiles on their faces were, and the excitement in their voices.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of the staff at the Vernon Airport, so we again would like to say thank you for everything you have done!
