With everything else that is always going on, it can sometimes be easy to lose track of what is really important.
With the multi-tasking merry-go-round we ride, it can be all we can handle just trying not to lose our grip.
But there was an opportunity on the evening of March 6, hosted by the Robson Volunteer Fire Department, to get back to basics in a most meaningful way.
The Tuesday function related to an incident at the start of last summer, when swift action by Robson first responders was the difference between life and death for a young man.
The 21-year-old had succumbed to heart failure and he was literally minutes away from a tragically early departure.
On Tuesday night he and his family had some conscientious men to thank.
A lot of others showed up as well, and the men also received kudos from the RDCK for their cool-headed efforts.
The accounts of what went on that day back in June were truly gripping. Hearing about it after the fact was inspiring, gratifying, and unforgettable.
