Once again as a citizen of Parksville I need to ask the question of our local gas stations once again.
Why are our prices up to 10 cents a litre more here than in Fanny Bay or in the Courtney/Comox area? I am not buying the sales pitch that due to the smaller customer base in our area we need to pay much more than other area. A station in Fanny Bay Petro was a $1.05/litre compared to our $1.14. I’m pretty sure Fanny Bay does not have a much larger population base to support an almost 10 cent difference.
It’s time we asked hard questions of our local stations as to why such a variance in price. Maybe it’s time we start have a town hall meeting with our local retailers and get them to explain in person in front of the people they are charging these prices.
