To the Editor:
Last weekend I got myself into my first conversation (I use the word loosely) with a woman who was clearly part of the Harper base. It went like this.
Me: “So what do you think about the muzzling of scientists so that there’s no real data coming out about climate change?” Answer: “I just vote with my party.”
Me: “How do you feel about Trudeau’s plan to run a deficit and create jobs that will reduce the infrastructure deficit?” Answer: “We need a strong stable government. Trudeau isn’t ready.”
Me: “What do you think about Mulcair’s child care plan to make it easier for women to work?” Answer: “I just got money for child care from the government. I’m for that.”
Me: “What do you think about Elizabeth May’s intention to bring in a national pharmacare program?” Answer: “Who’s Elizabeth May?”
I didn’t need to ask her how she would vote.
Please, before you vote, however you vote, first get informed about the election issues.
