In Africa, it takes a whole village to raise a child.
Beyond raising children, Umoja Operation Compassion has worked with Canadians to build a school for the community of Rwentutu in Western Uganda.
Along with this community school, the citizens of Golden, guided by Brenda Managh, have joined hands with Umoja, a Surrey-based NGO to build a medical clinic to help the children of this school as well as the community surrounding the school.
This letter is to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the people of Golden, who out of compassion, love and the spirit of changing one community at a time contributed up to $5000 Canadian dollars towards the completion of the clinic.
Amos and Edith Kambere, the founders of Umoja Operation Compassion, can’t say enough thanks, except this can be seen in the expressed smiles of the children at Rwentutu Community School in Uganda. We can never know how strong our Canadian dollar is until we put it to use in the third world. The clinic cost only $11,000 and almost half of this funding came from Golden! We plan to open the clinic in January as we continue to raise money to equip it with medicine and medical equipment. “Together, we can change the world, one community at a time”.
Thank you to the community of Golden
Amos Kambere,
