The Armstrong-Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce congratulates and thanks the councils of the City of Armstrong and Township of Spallumcheen on the exceptional work they have done in the past three years, not just in representing the best interests of our two communities and championing a variety of causes both business and social, but also in recognition of the amazing potential that lies ahead by continued co-operation like we’ve seen even in just the past year.
Joint council meetings, agreements to move forward on water supply issues, supporting each other at the regional level, the progress in working together on recreation services, and the general consensus that there are still more compatibilities to emerge that will propel our communities successfully into the future.
Hearing how our communities were recently represented at the Union of B.C. Municipalities by both councils makes our chamber the envy of dozens of communities, and we would genuinely like to recognize the work these very diligent contributors have done to advance our local economy and address some key issues that can lead to further progress, including annual support for the visitor centre serving both communities from our chamber office.
For these and many more reasons, we encourage the business community and citizens to recognize the councillors and mayors for their hard work, and we feel fortunate to have this great partnership moving forward to greater shared accomplishments.
Andrew Laird, president, on behalf of the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce board of directors
