Great care

Resident recently spent seven days in the cardiac care unit at Vernon Jubilee Hospital

I recently spent seven days in the cardiac care unit at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. I am writing to let you and Vernonites know what good care I received.

The concern and compassion shown by all the staff who attended to my needs, from the nurses, doctors, and support staff such as respiratory, X-ray etc., was of the finest.

Their attention to detail and to making sure I was comfortable was wonderful.

I am now home after being in Kelowna for angioplasty, where I received the same quality of care for the time it took to fix the damage I have caused myself, and am truly grateful to all of the people who attended to me.

Cudos also to the ambulance paramedics whose prompt response  to my wife’s call was assuredly a factor in my recovery.

We may grumble about our health care system and its inadequacies, but the people who work within that system are under constant pressure with shortages of beds, staff and time, are caring, empathetic people who do their damndest to take good and proper care of the patients in their charge.

Thank you to all who were a part of my care. You are a special group.
