Christmas is not the only time for giving. Here in Penticton we are blessed with many who share the gift of giving throughout the year.
This April the Penticton Canadian Tire donated over $650 worth of necessary items to the newly created non-profit society, Birthright of Penticton.
Birthright opened its doors in June of 2010 and is currently serving men and women in our communities who are facing pregnancy-related issues. Some of the services Birthright offers include pregnancy testing, peer counselling, referral assistance, guidance and support, maternity and baby clothes, as well as many other practical support services.
I, along with some of the volunteers, chose items for the facility including infant safety items, laundry and kitchen supplies as well as bath towels and bathroom baby items. It is with gratitude that Birthright moves forward into 2011 with support from Canadian Tire and other donors in our community.
For more information on Birthright please refer to www.Birthright.org or call 250 492-4901. Birthright is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or by appointment.
