I can’t believe it’s that time of year again.
Each day, I am thankful and honoured to be the MLA for this amazing area of British Columbia, and am so proud to represent the people who call the Cariboo home.
This holiday season, I hope you all get a chance to spend time with loved ones and close friends.
The hustle and bustle of the holiday season can be fast and furious, but it’s important to slow down and re-connect with family.
I would encourage everyone at this time of year to spend some time reflecting on how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful area in a wonderful province, in one of the greatest countries in the world.
Even though we do have much to celebrate, there are still those less fortunate who could always use a little extra help during the holidays.
To help keep as many people feeling the Christmas spirit, I urge you to support our local charities that give so much back to our communities at this time of year.
We are lucky in the Cariboo to have many great organizations working hard to make those less fortunate still have a happy holiday.
For this, I thank them.
While you’re enjoying this great time of year, please do so responsibly.
With so many events and parties going on, be sure to have a safe ride home as nothing can ruin the holidays faster than a tragedy. So plan ahead and be safe.
So please enjoy the remaining days of 2011, looking back at all that has happened and be encouraged looking forward to 2012. Happy holidays from my family to yours.
I’m looking forward to what lies ahead and accomplishing much, both in our community and as a province.
