Heart sign stolen from nurse’s driveway
After a good cry I decided to write this letter.
Last Thursday I saw the article about the SRA raising money to support people struggling in our community and frontline workers. I am a registered nurse and thought this was a wonderful way to support my community.
I purchased a sign with a large heart saying Love, Gratitude, Hope. When I got home after my shift Friday being emotionally and physically exhausted, the sign was in my driveway on Baldy Mountain Road, and it made me smile and gave me a surge of strength. Saturday morning driving to work, I left seeing that sign and it inspired me. When returning from work after yet another exhausting day my sign was gone.
Having that sign stolen broke me that day. I know it seems silly but wanted you to know the affect it had on this nurse who found joy for two days in that heart. Probably you will never read this, but I hope you do or someone tells you about it. We go to work every day not knowing if we will get COVID and bring it home to our loved ones. We do this willingly, but it does take a toll. Just wanted you to know the affect your theft had on me. Hope you enjoy my sign as much I did.
