HEROES & ZEROS

A collection of heroes from the community

HEROES – Friends Of Sybil Andrews Cottage Garden & Art Group celebrated a belated birthday last week with one of their own.  Very esteemed member Verna Bailey was celebrated at On Line Gourmet with lunch and a few gifts as well.  Fun was had by all. The On Line Gourmet was perfect for a large group to gather for lunch. The courteous staff in a very timely & efficient manner served up our orders of homemade style sandwiches, soups & salads while working around all the noisy fun. thank you so much On Line  and Verna. – G & M Teer

HEROES – The organizers and residents of Springwood Park Patio Homes who held a second annual garage sale on May 9. Not only were there all kinds of treasures to be found but it was a very social event where people were meeting others they hadn’t seen in years. There was also a garbage can and doggy watering dishes which were much appreciated on a hot day. You might even say there was entertainment as we saw one man wearing two trailing feather boas he had bought and another with three hats on his head. We will be looking forward to a 3rd annual sale next year. – Kate Randall, A Happy Customer

HERO – Erin Young, a passionate rugby coach in this community, for volunteering her time to teach the wonderful game of rugby to our Timberline P.E. classes.  Her knowledge of the game of rugby is outstanding and she is a real gift to Campbell River.  Our students loved it! – Suzanne Berg on behalf of Timberline P.E. staff & students

HERO – I just want to give a shout out to Jeff at Steve Marshalls Body Shop. I had my car repaired 10 years ago. It was never a good paint job went back but at that time no help. Went and saw Jeff because it was worse. He said we did it, we fix it. So two days later all fixed. Thanks Jeff. – Betty Brendeland

HEROES – Holly Molgaard-Tuttle, a karate instructor from Shotokan Karate-Do in Courtney, for volunteering his entire day to work with Timberline P.E. students.  He is an excellent role model and ambassador for karate and fitness in general.  He has an excellent manner with kids and it was evident in their respect for him. The classes were challenging, interactive and fun.  Holly, you are welcome to come back ANYTIME to share your expertise! – Suzanne Berg on behalf of the Timberline P.E. staff & students
