If you have a couple of hours on Sept. 23, the Canim Lake Band is hosting its 14th annual HIV/AIDS Awareness Walk at the White Feather Family Centre from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
The band is inviting everyone to participate in the walk, so they can educate themselves with HIV/AIDS, health and safety, sexually transmitted infections and learn about the support available.
The walk begins at the centre at 1 p.m., heads down to the Eliza Archie Memorial School, and then loops back. I think even I can do that.
After the walk, there will be several speakers and then some cake and refreshments will be served to the public. The event will be accompanied by drumming, and people are encouraged to bring a drum if they have one.
The centre is located 32 kilometres from 100 Mile House on Canim-Hendrix Lake Road. Folks can head east through Forest Grove to just past the second 60km/h sign, then watch for the signs.
