Since my first election in the 1960s, I have voted for the B.C. NDP. At times I have been the nameless, faceless campaign worker for more than one NDP candidate.
When the upheaval and removal of Carole James as leader took place I was furious. This opinion was vented through letters to Jenny Kwan and Leonard Krog stating my displeasure.
The response? E-mail junk mail for a year. No personal response at all. If this was a complaint to a business and no response was received, I would boycott said business. That is what happened on a large scale this election. The NDP was boycotted.
I felt cheated in the 2013 BC election. For the first time, I felt that I had no one to vote for. Adrian Dix with his own baggage or Christy Clark, Gordy Campbell’s right-hand person, who will abandon the environment and attempt to balance the budget on the backs of students and people with less to give.
The term ‘hold your nose and vote’ has a whole new meaning.
