In this day and age of negative comments regarding hospital surgeries, I wanted to say I recently had a positive one.
I had hernia surgery in mid-March and right from the admission clerk to the nurses, volunteers to the surgeon, Dr. H. Hwang, I was treated great.
Everything was explained to me prior to the surgery, what I was going to expect to have happen, what I would feel like and what I would see during my post-op care.
I was discharged when I felt I was able to leave. No one rushed me out.
In post-op care, I had one-on-one nursing care checking to ensure I was feeling all right to be moved to recovery.
The simple art of conversation came naturally to these professionals and it made you feel like you were a person and not just a number.
The next day, I was called at home from the surgery department to ensure I was still feeling good and had no concerns or further questions.
I can’t say enough about the care that I received and it made a difference in my thoughts about this hospital and its caring individuals.
