Hospital humour
At about five in the afternoon a nurse told me that people were outside that want to wave to you, “go to the window.”
About 35-40 people were outside on the lawn. They had a sign, “Get well Dennis, Get well Dad” on it. It was quite a distance away and I thought I recognized a couple of the people. I waved and they all waved back. I went back and sat on the bed with tears streaming down my face. I thought, so many people like me enough to come out to the hospital and wave.
A few minutes later another nurse came to me and said, those people are still there, you had better wave again. I went to the window again and waved. Not one of those people waved back. A short time later I was told that I was the wrong Dennis; their Dennis was three windows further down.
1:30 a.m. I awoke and could hear two TV sets that had been left on. I pressed the alarm button for the nurse. She came and I told her about the TVs, and could she please turn them off. It was annoying because they were on different channels.
