It ain’t all about LNG.
As Prince Rupert and environs holds its collective breath for the final investment decision by Pacific NorthWest LNG on its project near Port Edward, which is now expected to come in April 2017, there continues to be progress in Rupert.
DP World is continuing work on the Phase II North expansion and has begun feasibility studies on another expansion south. When complete, the company expects to add another 250 jobs.
The Port of Prince Rupert has taken another step forward announcing a new feasibility assessment agreement with Western Stevedoring for the potential construction of a breakbulk and bulk import/export terminal on the south shore of Kaien Island.
And the list goes on.
Prince Rupert needs to remember all of our proverbial eggs aren’t in just the LNG basket.
When LNG shovels hit the ground — great. In the meantime, take a look around. There are shovels hard at work all over this community — right now.
