Re: Condo and apartment fires due to barbecues.
The solution is quite simple: The insurance companies that covers contents and also the building itself can stipulate that they will not cover any fire damage caused by the use of any type of barbecues on the premises.
Therefore, there is no need for building codes or bylaws etc.
With the popular use of vinyl siding for these buildings, any barbecue can emit enough heat to melt and start the siding on fire which produces so much toxic smoke.
We were lucky not to lose anyone in these two fires in Rutland. It will be the insurance companies that will have to pay out now that the barbecues are done.
