Interchange concerns voiced

We should be spending the $85 million toward giving the western communities viable bus and rail options

I agree with the concerns about the interchange at McKenzie and Admirals expressed by Lucy Bashford in her letter to the editor that appeared in the Sept. 14 Saanich News.

In my opinion, we should be spending the $85 million toward giving the western communities viable bus and rail options, not building more highway infrastructure. With viable bus and rail the existing highway can handle transport trucks, increased BC Transit service and traffic to and from up Island.

We can save a gem of a park and continue to give students a vista that includes trees rather than a stark highway. Councillors please stand up for our future.
