To the Editor:
It only took a day to read about another “Deadly hit-and run driver appeals ban,” in the Penticton Herald, Monday, July 30.
A different case of DUI slaughter perhaps – but the end result is somebody lost their life and not being a real Monty I hope the appeal feeding lawyer’s have as much chance of success as a snowball in hell.
The number two disgusting read in the Herald happened on the same day as above.
“Should liquor stores open on Sundays?”
My opinion is why not? – complete the circle as everything else that was sacred is either there or on it’s way to hell.
Perhaps consider selling booze at all Sunday sermons as it may add another octave to the hymn Amazing Grace as clogging and a real live hoot- nanny could lighten up the atmosphere and the cracks in the floor.
No matter how much money liquor and oil pipelines etc. add cash to government coffers it would be squandered in no time by the proven dim bulbs who manage the people’s government.
It would come as no surprise to me if the sad sacks decided to install a retractable roof over the entire city of Vancouver thus giving bragging rights of having the greatest big – top in the entire world.
