It’s time to vote for Nanaimo’s Best of the City

2021 survey includes more than a dozen new categories

It’s time to vote in our Best of the City survey.

Once again, we’re asking community members to tell us what’s best about Nanaimo – What are your favourite things to see and do? What are your favourite shops and services? This year’s survey is bigger than ever, as we’ve added more than a dozen new categories – the best of Nanaimo, it turns out, cannot be constrained.

Best Take-out Food seemed like an appropriate new category as we emerge from a year-and-a-half-long pandemic, and a few of the other additions include Best Place to Get Curry, Best Place to Buy a New Vehicle, Best Pharmacy, Best Community-Minded Business, Best Real Estate Agent and Best Tourism Activity/Adventure Business. Of course all the other highly competitive categories return, such as Best Nanaimo Bars, Best Restaurant Overall, Best Beauty Salon or Spa and Best Customer Service.

We admit the survey has grown to the point that it’s no small task to fill out, but there’s some extra incentive: everyone who fills in the survey will have their name entered in a random draw for a $250 gift card courtesy our sponsor, Mid Island Co-Op.

Best of the City is a big deal to us mostly because the Nanaimo community has shown us that it cares about the Best of the City distinction. We know businesses strive to be No. 1 and they’re proud to be among the best, as they should be.

As we go about our lives and have good days and bad days, the little interactions we have around Nanaimo make a difference. It seems like a simple thing to do, to take the time to toss a vote to the shops and services that make us smile.

Please visit www.nanaimobulletin.com/contests to fill out the survey by Aug. 3, and thank you in advance for participating.

Let’s recognize some worthy winners. Let’s celebrate the best of Nanaimo.
