Japan fund-raiser a success, thanks to community

Editor: On behalf of the Ohtaki delegation, I would like to thank a few people and organizations.

For starters, I would like to say a big thank you to the Country Grocer for letting us hold the hotdog sale at the front of their store, and, for donating everything for us to sell.

Also, a big thank you to the Cowichan Lake Home Building Centre (Irly Bird), to Cowichan Lake Recreation, and Lake Cowichan Secondary School, for changing their signs to let people know about our fund-raising event.

And lastly, a huge thank you to all the people that came out and supported us from the Cowichan Lake area and beyond (some as far away as Victoria), including the leadership group from LCSS that came by and helped us in the fund-raising effort.

It was truly overwhelming the amount of people that came by to donate to help our friends in Japan.

An account has been established at the Royal Bank in Lake Cowichan to accept donations for the ongoing relief efforts in Japan.
