Kids fighting climate change are spoiled
It is indeed interesting that the kids suing the government about climate change state that they want the “same quality of life as generations before them have enjoyed”. (“It’s terrifying: Valley Teen leads effort to fight climate change”, Citizen, Oct. 30)
I think these kids need a reality check, if this is what the lawsuit is all about.
I am 83, and like the youngster from Duncan I too grew up on a farm. Our house did not have electricity, no indoor water or toilet, only an outhouse, heated by a wood furnace that would burn out during the night. We skied or walked to school, which by the way was a mile away, summer and winter and used a team of horses for general transportation in the winter.
If these kids had to live like my generation, they would have something to bitch about. The fact is our generation shouldn’t have spoiled them like we have with the comforts brought on by fossil fuel.
