On June 7 I was in need of serious medical attention in Okanagan Falls.
I called 911, the volunteer on the other end was amazing, talking me through what to do and what he was doing to get help. The Okanagan Falls Volunteer Fire Dept arrived within minutes and again within minutes an ambulance arrived. My distress obvious, the entire team operated with speed and professionalism.
I was ambulanced to Penticton Regional Hospital where a team was waiting for us. The problem assessed, treatment given and I was stabilized shortly after arriving, a life saved. Then the PRH nurses and specialists took over, oh and a ambulance trip to the cath lab in Kelowna for good measure.
Two days later I walk out, a new lease on life. I simply cannot say thank you enough to all the men and women in our health care system; in my case those who helped with my emergency. I don’t remember most of your names, sadly some things went by in a blur and I didn’t catch a name, sorry. The excellent work you all do on a daily basis is often taken for granted, I just wanted to say thank you.
