Dear Editor,
My mom moved to Abbeyfield from her home in Enderby to be closer to family.
As expected, it took a few months for her to adjust to a smaller living space and a different lifestyle.
Mom was a very independent person and she soon came to appreciate that she had the best of both worlds.
She could come and go as she pleased while having the safety and security of knowing she had her daily meals and the friendship and company of the other residents and the very helpful staff.
She often mentioned that she especially enjoyed having the option of socializing with the other residents or having private time in her room. During her nine years at Abbeyfield, mom made many new friends and enjoyed participating in all the activities especially the visiting musicians and the school children.
The 10 residents and staff create a wonderful family atmosphere in the house.
I was lucky to be able to spend quality time with my mom as well as having the peace of mind knowing she was happy and in a safe place.
If you are looking for care for a senior, I can highly recommend Abbeyfield House.
