I am writing in support of the mother attempting to use our public-funded TransLink services and the abysmal reception she received at the hands of a bus driver, around her double stroller for her twins, as reported on Jan. 27.
A reminder to drivers who are essentially public servants, that the respect expected towards drivers, is certainly expected towards passengers.
We have bus capabilities of lowering the bus entrance, we have priority seating for those who need it.
The public deserves consideration and kindness in using our public services.
A few caring words would go a long way, as folks use public transit, and a reminder that it’s a good thing to have people on buses, it means one less car on the road and less pollution.
Will TransLink follow up on this driver’s behaviour and offer an apology ?
