LETTER: Bus rider pens thank-you to all who decorate for the holidays

I am a regular traveller through Sidney going from and to the ferry. At this time of year, it can be quite a lonely trip as I travel five hours each way to reach my mom in Victoria.

Yesterday and today, as another transit trip was taking place, I got to look out and see the lights of Christmas decorating the houses, condos and apartments along the transit route from Swartz Bay, through Sidney, Saanichton, Central Saanich, Pat Bay Highway, etc. It was so special and I am so grateful to all those that bother to put lights up. I am not able to in my small apartment in New Westminster, and seeing the lights just makes my journey that much nicer – especially at this time of year.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that does this – especially those on the transit #72 run. It really does help a weary soul and provides the feeling of Christmas to someone that travels so much without a car to see a frail senior.

Thank you and thanks to all your readers and those that decorate.
