To the people that drive along Otter Point Road out towards King Road: please use caution when travelling along this road, people do ride their horses along this road. Be courteous, slow down and pass wide.
On Dec. 24 at approximately 3:30 p.m. I was riding my horse on Otter Point Road towards Eagle Crest Road, when this fellow in a big white Ford pickup truck with two blue dirt bikes in the back, drove past me, and thrusted down on the gas. The truck is louder than any normal truck, and because of this, he spooked my horse and it took a bit to get her under control.
My horse usually doesn’t spook in traffic, but with the loud and noisy truck, she did.
There is a sign at Farmer Drive warning that there are horses on the road for two kilometres.
I ask that whoever drives down Otter Point Road to slow down and be courteous to whoever is walking, riding their bike or whatever the case be. And please slow down and move over.
This road is not the Indy 500 race track, as most drivers think that it is for some reason. These drivers love to cut corners, cross the center line for no apparent reason, and also like to drive on the road shoulders, close to where people walk.
