Change of race course
Thanks to the city of Penticton for making the Sunday, Aug. 27 bike race safer for all.
The previous two Sunday races shut down access to high-density elderly and family housing, three churches, the senior’s centre and at least one local business — thousands of people on South Main. This Sunday there were two broad bike lanes for the racers, and a one-way, northbound lane for local traffic from Yorkton Avenue to Dauphin Court.
Well done! I’m sure I am one of many, many people who appreciated this change in policy that will make the popular races a win for everyone.
