Why should any church that receives a property tax exemption from the municipality – and that is successful in getting zoning changes allowing it to enter into a commercial venture – not be required to pay full back taxes on the property at a commercial rate for a time equal to its property tax free status.
Surely this would help keep our municipal taxes down and level the playing field for all parties wishing to enter into commercial ventures.
