First of all her terminology is both misleading and untrue. Imposing euthanasia? Dirty deeds? Does she really believe that?

While I feel extremely sorry for the poor wife and mother dealing with a terminal illness, what has that to do with having MAiD services available at hospices?

Does she really think she is going to be forced to be euthanized? If so, that is a sad and unfortunate belief.

If Ms. Jansen is of the opinion that euthanasia is going to be forced on unfortunate souls that can no longer be useful members of society, perhaps she should do some research on the matter.

Just because she is against having the option of ending one’s life with dignity does not give her or her cohorts the right to deny that service to those of us who may want to access it.

I, for one, feel it is an optional resource available to folks who are of sound mind and want to access such a service.

So, to you, Ms. Jansen, I say you do not speak for me and as you say, this is not a totalitarian society.

So if you don’t want to use such a service good for you, but don’t deny it to others just because of your misguided beliefs.

Margaret Smith,
