LETTER: Construction conditions variable

In his July 25 column, Tom Fletcher trumpets "Unions regain control of public construction" in the same manner as "the sun has set today," as though it is a once-in-a-lifetime curse.

In his July 25 column, Tom Fletcher trumpets “Unions regain control of public construction” in the same manner as “the sun has set today,” as though it is a once-in-a-lifetime curse.

Union membership waxes and wanes, Mr. Fletcher. It is neither a portent nor a blessing. Rest assured, when things slow down (and the NDP is not re-elected?), your “free market economy” will rise to the fore, personal and business bankruptcies will surge – and the provincial coffers will continue to be drained.
