The Editor,
Re: “Mixed messaging is amping up COVID-19 fatigue, frustration,” the Now-Leader, Dec. 10. On Monday, Dec. 7, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that COVID-19 lockdown measures in B.C. will continue at least until Jan. 8, 2021, with some enhancements.
While I have, and continue to, support these measures in the hope that one day COVID-19 will be a thing of the past and we can get back to enjoying life with family and friends, I am confused by the mixed messaging.
I have since walked by the South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre, and seen that the gym is still open for business.
So it appears to me that I cannot visit with my children and grandchildren or participate in worship at my church over Christmas, but I can go to the gym and work out with a bunch of strangers?
I now understand why some people continue to do what they feel is best for them.
