Dear Editor,
I just read the recent Observer, Thursday, June 13, 2019. The front page news and the second page news should be a wake up call.
RELATED: Suspect in custody after shooting threat at Seabird Island School
RELATED: Armed robbers in stolen Jeep hit Mission, Seabird gas bars
RELATED: Agassiz, Hope men arrested after car chase, police dog pursuit across Fraser Valley
The threat is real. The danger is real and it’s going to be “the new normal.”
The Big City has reached the back door of Agassiz.
Shootings, car chases and armed robberies with shots fired were only common in big cities and down in the U.S.A. Well, not anymore.
The Bad Guys could strike anywhere, anytime and their next victim could be anyone. It does not matter who you are.
Just recently a 90-year-old man was assaulted in Chilliwack and a knife-wielding woman attacked a Chilliwack RCMP police officer.
Even if you are 80 years old with a handicap, the bad guys will take advantage of you.
It is possible that the Prospera Credit Union could get hit again, as it was a few years ago. Yes, the Agassiz Prospera was robbed. It had a very large police response.
