Re: Sour grapes over strollers, Feb. 13 letters.
Letter writer W. Al Reide is critical of bus passengers who attempt to use public transit for travelling with large strollers, and he extols the good old days when his family rode with only an umbrella stroller.
I would appreciate a demonstration of how he believes a solo parent with two babies would accomplish this feat. I hereby challenge Mr. Reide to set out for a day’s outing with two babies and an umbrella stroller (or two), accompanied by a PAN reporter. For every hour that Mr. Reide travels on TransLink with the babies I will donate $100 to the local cold weather emergency shelter.
Don’t forget to pack diapers, food, formula, bottles and a change of clothing for the babies, just in case.
I’ll provide the babies and the strollers, sir. You name the day and the bus stop.
I think we will all profit from this lesson on the proper way to move children around the city.
