Dear editor,
Has the Tour de France relocated to the airpark?
As long-term walkers of the park, we are seeing more and more bicycles of all sorts, including racing bikes and electric powered bikes, with some riders all decked out in serious riding gear.
When passing, some don’t call out, or use a bell.
Could they not be out in the new bicycle lanes provided for them with much expense to the taxpayers?
Signage at the park says Ron Webber “Walkway.” Moms with strollers, dog walkers, seniors, some in wheelchairs and walkers, some hard of hearing, handicapped, and children large and small on cycles and rollerblades are all using the walkway. The bicycles are becoming a real danger – an accident waiting to happen.
We need some suggestions so everyone can use the park safely. Perhaps designated times for cyclists, or designated areas for walkers.
