Wikipedia describes Bowser as a seaside community “informally known as Lighthouse Country” — population 1,729.
Hmmm, 1,729 people about to be negatively impacted by the proposed wastewater treatment plant and a marine outfall that will spew effluent into the Salish Sea and yet only 99 individuals representing 107 parcels in the region were given the opportunity to vote on the project.
I guess that in their haste to obtain the Clean Water Grant the Regional District of Nanaimo forgot that we live in a democracy.
Is it any wonder that we, the other 1,630 people who enjoy the beach, digging clams and eating oysters, fishing, boating and swimming are outraged?
