Letter: Don’t lower voting age to 16

A letter writer says teens don't have enough life experience to vote.

Dear Editor,

Considering at 16, young people are usually in school and at the mercy of the BCTF’s NDP, indoctrination, it’s happening – I hear and see it – it’s not a good idea [to lower the voting age to 16].

Also until young people have the experience of working for a living and paying taxes, they don’t understand how much taxes are wasted at their expense.

The older they get the more they feel the squeeze.

Their politics will change from what their educators tell them to what they actually experience.
