I enjoyed reading Bob Groeneveld’s column [When downtown was a million miles, Feb. 11 Opinion, Langley Advance].

I am also formerly from Port Alberni.

Bob’s column brought back fond memories of “downtown Port” and the lunch counters of Woolworth’s.
