LETTER: Election contributions should be transparent

LETTER: Election contributions should be transparent

Wouldn't it be nice to know that our candidates have nothing to hide?

Dear Editor:

I feel that all contributors to political candidates should be transparent.

Once the election process is over, all candidates must fill documentation which is posted on line showing all contributions received for their campaign.

While it is not illegal to black out names and amounts, in light of current politics and the upcoming civic elections, wouldn’t it be nice to know that our candidates have nothing to hide?

I think both the name of the contributor and the amount should be available, this should also apply to numbered companies who buy or sell properties.

It makes me wonder in both cases why they don’t want their name on the contribution list or on the title of a property.
