Facebook ad was disrespectful
When I checked my Facebook this morning, I found to my dismay a notification for a BCAA service that was endorsed by a good friend of mine. Why was I dismayed? My friend passed away more than a year ago, so it was very upsetting to see her name being used to endorse a service as though she was still alive.
This wasn’t the first time Facebook used her name to endorse a service or product. I had politely alerted Facebook to this error in the past, but to no avail.
Begs the question, are they so darn insensitive or just plain ignorant? It also makes me question the validity of their advertisements. To use a deceased person’s name to endorse an ad is, as far as I’m concerned, false advertising.
Seems to me that Facebook needs to clean up its act, and that advertisers have the responsibility to check out who is used to endorse their product or service.
I’m not sure if my concern reaches Facebook; I’m hoping to alert people of their practice, so they will question it too.
They surely don’t show respect to the deceased and their families.
