Grateful we have the Shatford

Thank you for Jane Shaak’s Creative Community column in the Friday, March 2 Penticton Western News which was both interesting and surprising.

I lend my voice to hers in inviting people to stop in and look around. I arrived in Okanagan Falls via Penticton in 2010 and no doubt would have/did regard the centre as a very appealing school building.

Thanks to at least two people, namely Eleanor Walker and Liz Lawrence, I had my own opportunity to be a part of finding out what the Shatford Centre is. For me, it became the venue of my return to acting for the first time since a night class in the Lower Mainland. It’s also among my favourite landmarks to photograph.

We had the amazing opportunity to present the play 12 Angry Jurors, aka 12 Angry Men, to the public and become part of the countless events and activities in its long history.

That was only the second public play production run for me, the first with a wine-oriented opening night. So, I am very grateful we have the Shatford.
