Letter: Hope man facing homelessness gives thanks for change, kindness

Editor,

Editor,

On Friday, Aug. 13, I was at Save-On-Foods. I was collecting change. A nice gentleman said “you should be inside”, because of the smoke. Obviously, he didn’t know how I was because I’m homeless. Still a nice gesture by him. His name is Phil.

Also, I want to say thank you to everyone giving me change, bills and their love and kindness. I love talking to people, just telling them where I grew up or where they’re from.

There is a fire ban, so it’s impossible to cook. If there was somewhere in town that homeless could cook, or heat up soup, that would be extremely helpful.
