LETTER: If the Valley is growing too quickly there are other options

Dear editor,

Dear editor,

Re: Brogan’s letter to the editor (Is the Comox Valley growing too quickly? May 24 Record). I offer this rebuttal.

Dear Dan,

Glad to see you chose the Comox Valley eight whole years go. I’ve only been here my whole life, all 33 years. I certainly have seen some changes.

I remember when Field sawmill was more then a slab of concert. When it was a place of employment, I remember when Costco, Thrifty’s, Walmart and the hospital were just trees. Now they are places of work. I get it, you moved here because it reminded you of “some town” in the 50s, 60s or maybe even in the 80s. Well times change, things need to happen, or towns die.

I personally love how our little town is growing up. Do I agree with everything that happens? No I don’t, but most of these places you have named have been for sale at some point and if you want to keep them as a green space, buy them and make them a park.

But don’t want to do that. There’s a lovely town called Woss that would love to call you a resident.
