Letter: In support of the Kelowna tourism centre

New visitor centre will be a well-designed public amenity; will bring substantial economic activity

To the editor:

I support the new visitor centre and believe it will be a project that will benefit residents and visitors.

I have lived in Kelowna since 1980 and worked in air service development for nearly four decades. I understand how tourism benefits our community and strongly support the growth of that industry.

I have also been fortunate to travel to many world-class destinations across five continents and have seen how attractive visitor centres, placed where pedestrian traffic is high, positively contribute to a community and create economic growth.

The new visitor centre will be a well-designed public amenity and will bring substantial economic activity for Kelowna and area.

My wife and I use the lakefront walkway frequently—either to run, walk or show our beautiful destination to visiting friends and family. The new visitor centre will be a welcome enhancement to the area.
