It is a tremendous disgrace that the trial of a police officer has been delayed for so many years. According to news media reports, Hudson Brooks was shot almost four years ago.
Is the police woman going to plead that the trial was delayed so long as to be an injustice to her?
Why does the Brooks family have to suffer not only delayed justice but the tremendous loss of the death of a young son?
Some careers require a higher standard of acceptable behaviour. Police work is one such career.
As Canadian citizens, and as British Columbia residents, we must all demand these crimes be swiftly dealt with by the courts. We must all realize that democracy is fragile and can be lost when the rule of law is not swiftly upheld.
