The photo of the cat is charming, but the owner of it should be educated on harm it creates to the wildlife particularly birds. Scientist estimated that millions of birds are killed each year by domestic cats. Despite being of sweet disposition and well fed the hunting instinct prevails.
Mrs. Hopkinson and many others owners of cats should be responsible owners and keep them inside or provide a safe, outside enclosure such as a screened porch or go for a walk with the cat on a leash. This way you will have even more contact with the neighbours.
