Dear Editor,
Canada’s Conservatives have always and will always support our men and women in uniform. We are fighting for them every day, just as they fought for us.
By now, Canadians across the country have heard about Justin Trudeau’s insulting exchange with a Canadian hero in Edmonton. When asked why he had failed to deliver on his promises to veterans, Justin Trudeau’s reply was astonishing: “They are asking for more than we can give right now.”
Justin Trudeau found $10 million to pay off a convicted terrorist. He spent thousands flying a celebrity chef to cook for him in India. His has failed to present a plan to balance Canada’s books after years of reckless spending. But when it comes time to support our veterans, he claims he has no money.
Canada’s Conservatives put forward a motion in Parliament calling on the Liberals to keep their promises to veterans, and for Justin Trudeau to personally apologize for his disrespectful comments to a Canadian hero.
Shamefully, Liberal MPs John Aldag, Ken Hardie, and Gordie Hogg all voted against showing veterans the respect they deserve. These MPs voted to protect Justin Trudeau, and against standing up for veterans.
Our veterans deserve our respect and support. You can count on Canada’s Conservatives to fight for them every day, because they fought for us.
