Editor: Kudos and mahalo to your “ambassadors of aloha,” the Langley Ukulele Ensemble which just completed the 23rd year of sharing their wonderful talents at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.
Led by the inspired leadership of Paul Luongo and his dad, Peter, these amazing musicians thrilled standing room-only audiences with five consecutive nights of free entertainment at the Sheraton, located on Waikiki Beach.
Each night’s program was different and covered the gamut from rock ‘n roll, to international, to contemporary and even Hawaiian, at which they are fluent.
Earlier in the week, these representatives of Canada’s finest youth performed at other hotel venues and were featured in Kapiolani Park at the prestigious annual Ukulele Festival, which brings together groups from all over the world.
Langley citizens, you should be very proud. Please do everything you can to support there efforts. We in Honolulu can hardly wait for their return next year.
Sent with sincere aloha.
Frank Mauz,
Honolulu
